Meet the Team

It takes a lot of work and a lot of help to make DCCR a successful Rescue.

The team you see here is made up of a few people that have made DCCR possible.   There are many many others that help make what we do possible from the people at the shelters, Rescue friends in other states that help us help the neediest of dogs, transport friends, Fosters, donors and the families that give our dogs wonderful homes.  We would not be able to do what we do without all of you.  Thank you for your support.

Rebecca Waldrop is the Co-Founder of DCCR. She grew up in the Beautiful State of Hawaii where she realized her love for animals. She owned a horse named Gidget and raised several dogs in her hometown of Waipahu Hawaii. She began volunteering at a local animal rescue in 2013 and quickly realized she had a passion and a talent for rescuing dogs from kill shelters. After a year of volunteer work and learning the ins and outs of non profit organizations DCCR was created from the minds and hearts of Rebecca and Jaime. Miyoko
MiyokoOutreach Coordinator
Miyoko Ivis is the Outreach Coordinator at DCCR. She works as an Orthopedic Physician Assistant and has passions for both human medicine and saving dogs! She has two lab mix rescues named Charlie and Brody and a husband named Ryan. In her spare time she enjoys running, skiing and playing soccer. What she loves the most about rescue is saving dogs from death row and watching them find their forever homes. She also believes in educating the community about the alarming murder rates among high kill shelters and helping people realize that they can make a difference.
Hello World, my name is Ryan Ivis.
Hello World, my name is Ryan Ivis.Technology Guru
I work with DCCR to help provide website, email, and technology support. I also do whatever possible to help save as many dogs as possible. Miyoko and I have adopted one dog from DCCR as well as rescued another from a veteran with health issues. We also have 4 cats and a turtle. Our house is a zoo but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
DebMarie Phillips
DebMarie PhillipsDoggy Doula
This is DebMarie Phillips and she is our doggy doula. Although she began volunteering by fostering one woofer at a time, she was absolutely hooked on whelping when the first puppy entered the rescue world. DebMarie is owned by 4 irresistible dogs, all by way of rescue. When she’s not throwing tennis balls around the yard for her pack to chase down, DebMarie enjoys photography, with her favorite subject being (surprise!) the 4-legged variety.
